How important is dog bed hygiene?
The dog bed is the center of the dog's everyday life because a large part of it takes place there. This is where you doze off after long walks, recharge your batteries for the next round of walks and cuddle with your favorite toy. Why is it important to wash the dog bed regularly?
Experience has shown that many dog owners wash their dog beds too rarely. Most of the time, dog beds are simply vacuumed or wiped, believing that this is sufficient. But this is not the case.
In addition to the externally visible dirt, the comfortable berths are also an ideal incubator for microscopic creatures such as mites and bacteria. You should definitely not underestimate these impurities that are not or barely visible, as they stubbornly adhere to the surface of the dog bed. Some parasites and protozoa can also spread to other animals if hygiene is poor. For example, infection with Giardia.
Hygienic washing of the dog bed is therefore essential and helps to reduce both surface dirt and invisible residues on the dog bed to a minimum. In addition, bad odors are also effectively removed from the material.

If you often go out and about with your dog in the city or if you prefer to spend your time together in the forest or park, your dog will sometimes bring in more or less dirt from outside. The season and the weather also play an important role in how quickly the dog bed gets dirty.
